PLAYING RULES AND REGULATIONS

To ensure the enjoyment of play for all our members and their guests, everyone who uses our golf course, our clubhouse and our practice facilities must abide by the following rules and agreements.

APPLICABILITY

These rules apply to everyone who uses the golf course, the practice facilities, the clubhouse and all other facilities of The International. This means that, before you start playing golf, you should be familiar with these rules (and the applicable ‘local rules’), but of course also that you should respect all these rules while playing.

The International reserves the right to amend and/or supplement these regulations.

COURT STAFF INSTRUCTIONS

Course staff at The International are constantly looking out for your safety and enjoyment, your guests and all other golfers on the course. If they give directions or instructions, you must follow them immediately and unconditionally at all times. Failure to do so or to comply with the Rules of the Course may result in the removal of the player from the course, and even the revocation of the right to play for a period of time.

BEHAVIOUR ON THE COURSE

  • Players at The International shall conduct themselves in a courteous and sporting manner. Behaviour (both verbal and non-verbal) that may be perceived as a nuisance or inappropriate by fellow players, other golfers on the course or course personnel will not be tolerated.
  • Follow the rules and etiquette as described in the booklet “The Golf Rules” of the NGF. Also adhere to (temporary) local rules, as mentioned on the scorecard, the website or at the reception in the clubhouse.
  • Each player should carry a pitch fork and use it if necessary.
  • Playing in a flight with more than four persons is not allowed.
  • It is not allowed to use driving range balls in the course.

PACE OF PLAY

For a good pace of play in the course, we ask you to observe the following guidelines:

  • Always keep an eye on the flight in front of you and the flight behind you.
  • If you are holding up the flight behind you, let them pass, regardless of the composition of the flight, as soon as:
    • The hole in front of you is empty
    • You no longer have a connection with the flight in front of you.
    • Your party is searching for a ball and it looks like it will not be found immediately (the ‘3-minute rule’ refers to searching, not passing).
  • When you have waved the players of the flight that is coming up behind through, wait until the flight that has passed is out of reach before continuing play.
  • Do not move or talk when a fellow player is about to hit.
  • Play a provisional ball if your ball is suspected of being lost or difficult to find.
  • Place buggies, golf bags and trolleys well outside the green and in such a way that you can take them with you on your way to the next hole without having to walk past the green.

DRESS CODE AND EQUIPMENT

At The International you play in appropriate clothing and functional equipment.

  • For ladies: a polo shirt (possibly sleeveless) with collar; bermudas or golf skirts.
  • For men: a polo shirt with collar; Bermuda shorts (no sports shorts).
  • T-shirts and tracksuits are not allowed, but decent jeans are.
  • Each player must have his own bag
  • Golf shoes are obligatory
  • It is fine to wear your golf shoes in the clubhouse, but only when they are equipped with soft spikes.

CARE FOR THE COURSE

At The International we work together to ensure that the course is and remains in perfect condition. That’s why everyone abides by the following rules:

  • Always repair your pitch mark on the green (and someone else’s if necessary).
  • Replace divots and/or use the appropriate mixture of sand and grass seed. If you don’t have this mixture available, put your sod back in the divot and press it down for quicker recovery of the fairway.
  • Enter and leave bunkers on the low side.
  • Always rake the bunkers and put the rake back.
  • Making a practice swing on the tee is permitted as long as you do not hit the grass on the teebox with your club.
  • Never walk through “Ground Under Repair” (indicated by blue posts or blue lines).
  • When winter greens are involved, it is explicitly forbidden to play on summer greens.
  • When using a buggy, drive on the designated paths as much as possible and carefully avoid any wet spots on the course.
  • Never drive your buggy or trolley over greens, tees, between the bunkers and the greens, on the foregreens and aprons.
  • It is forbidden to leave waste, cigarette butts and/or other objects on the golf complex other than in the designated waste bins.

USE OF  BUGGIES AND TROLLEYS

  • Buggies and trolleys are welcome on the course, but The International may prohibit the use of buggies and trolleys at any time in order to protect the course. Our website will indicate if buggies and/or trolleys are allowed that day.
  • The use of a buggy is at your own risk.
  • The driver of a buggy has to be 18 years or older.

BOOKING AND STARTING

  • Before starting a round of golf, using the driving range or taking a golf lesson, each player must check in at the reception of The International.
  • At least 5 minutes before your starting time you have to be present on the concerning tee.
  • You can only start your round from hole 10 when instructed by the marshall or a member of the reception staff at The International.
  • If you are unable to make use of your reserved starting time, please inform the reception desk of The International as soon as possible (and in any case within 24 hours).

CANCELLATION

Golf lessons can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours in advance. After this The International reserves the right to charge a fee.

SAFETY OF COURSE STAFF

  • While playing, please always consider the safety of our staff. Our greenkeepers and marshalls always have priority.
  • If our staff are carrying out maintenance work on and around the green, they will take the flag out of the hole as a sign of this. Under no circumstances may the green in question be played on while they are working.
  • For all work in the course, you can only continue playing when the staff member working in the course has given the signal.

PRACTICE FACILITIES

  • The practice facilities may only be used by members and their guests.
  • On the chipping green and the putting green you are obliged to repair pitchmarks and other damage after use.
  • Practice bunkers must be raked after use.

PETS

Pets are not allowed on the entire property of The International.
